For Investigators
NUCATS facilitates and helps grow the overall clinical and translational research enterprise at Northwestern. Here are a few ways we can help NU investigators interested in these areas.
Pilot Funding
The NUCATS Research Discovery Program runs a variety of Pilot Funding Programs across the enterprise. Click here for current pilot opportunities
Core Facilities
NUCATS, through the TTRP and TDP programs - plays a leading role in coordinating oversight and operating shared core facilities that NUCATS investigators need to move their research forward. You can find links to NUCATS member core facilities below (note: some facilities are restricted to specific members).

Regulatory Assistance

The Regulatory Support Program will help you navigate through the required paperwork associated with conducting clinical and translational research. You can find helpful information, including contacts at our clinical trials support services page.
Research Incubator
In the plans is a special work-in-progress seminar, the clinical and translational research incubator seminar (CTRIS), that will be held biweekly for NUCATS Institute principal investigators, core investigators and trainees to share substantive new research findings, potential new ideas before grant submission (including internal pilot projects) and methodological techniques and advances that are clearly or potentially relevent to investigators' research. The research part of the meeting will be a presentation of reporting new findings or ideas and the second part will address analytic techniques that could have application in that research.
Finding Collaborators

Search Feinberg faculty profiles - A major part of the NUCATS mission is to promote and facilitate collaboration across Northwestern University and its affiliates. To this end, we are compiling a comprehensive list of NU researcher interests across the entire enterprise, which we will be putting into the NUCATS researcher database. To start, only FSM researchers will be listed.

Search publications - You can also trawl NU researcher interest using the NUCATS publication database.

NU Expert guide – University Relations has created a site for the media to easily identify experts in a broad variety of fields.

Still can't find what you're looking for? NUCATS personnel possess broad institutional knowledge. We encourage you to contact us at nucats@northwestern.edu if you are interested in finding a collaborator or learning of researchers who are using a particular technology or methodology.

Membership
We encourage you to join NUCATS. The only requirement is that you are interested in clinical and translational research and have a faculty appointment at Northwestern. To join NUCATS, all you have to do is send us your name, title and contact information, and a list of your research interests (including some key words). Once we receive that information, we will add you to our mailing list and make sure that you are informed of internal and external funding opportunities.
