Networking

Networking is something that a lot of people overlook, yet can be incredibly useful in terms of finding a collaborator, a licensee or building a company.  The goal of networking is to establish mutually beneficial professional relationships with new people.

Several university organizations hold frequent meetings and seminars that can be great for internal networking, but there are also several organizations around Chicago that regularly host events that serve as great networking opportunities outside of the university environment.  Some organizations, like the Illinois Biotechnology Organization (iBIO) are focused specifically on biomedical topics, while others will occasionally have events targeted to the biomedical community.
