Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety

School of Medicine

This sister program to the Master’s in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety educates clinicians and other healthcare professionals to become effective healthcare quality and patient safety thinkers, practitioners, and researchers. The program focuses on issues that shape health policy around quality and safety.Part-time: 12 months, Chicago campus
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Science

College of Arts and Sciences      

This sister program to the MQARS provides practicing scientists in the pharmaceutical, food, and biotechnology industries with the knowledge, expertise, and skills to create and implement efficient and effective quality systems as well as understand the regulatory and compliance environment. The certificate alternative is available for professionals seeking only specific course work.Part-time: 12-18 months, Evanston campus

Biotechnology

School of Engineering

Offers a direct, focused, and integrated approach to training biologists, chemists, and engineers side by side. Places great emphasis on coursework in modern biology, biotechnology, and biochemical engineering as well as on a comprehensive and innovative research experience.Full Time (part time option available): 15 months, Evanston campus
Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (MCBB)

School of Engineering

Equips students with the requisite skills to conduct research at the interface of computer science, statistics, and biology. Students participate in a summer research internship program in addition to courses and research at Northwestern, gaining valuable, paid work experience in an industrial setting.Full Time: 1-2 years, Evanston campus
Epidemiology/Biostatistics (MSEB)

Designed for students committed to studying the distribution of health and disease in populations and clinical settings. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary perspectives to provide students with the skills to apply epidemiological and biostatistical methodology to the design, conduct, and analysis of population and clinical studies. There are thesis and non-thesis tracks.Full Time: 18-24 months, Chicago campus
Health Care Quality and Patient Safety

Medical Informatics (MMI)
