Biography:
Eric M. Ruderman, MD, received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, New York. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his fellowship in rheumatology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Ruderman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He is a clinical rheumatologist at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.

Dr. Ruderman is the recipient of many prestigious awards in the rheumatology and research communities, has published journal articles, books, and chapters, has served and chaired many distinguished leadership committees, and remains actively involved in editing for professional publications, patient care, teaching, medical education and clinical research trials.

Session:
The Future of Biologic Therapies presented by Eric Ruderman, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University

Summary:
This lecture is designed for clinical research professionals and physicians interested in both basic and clinical 
aspects of the future of biologic therapies.
 

Objectives:
1.  Review the pathophysiologic basis for current biological therapies and future therapies in development.
2.  Discuss the potential for tailoring biological therapies to individual patients, across disease categories.
3.  Discuss the role of post-marketing surveillance in assessing the safety consequences of new biologic therapies.
