CRU Clinical Services Overview

The CRU offers clinical research services through its Research Nursing, Core Laboratory, and Bionutrition core resources. The core laboratory provides a range of assays, specimen processing, and storage services. There is also a research dietary core offering dietary services, testing, and measurements such as basal metabolism, resting energy expenditure, and body mass index by multifrequency bioimpedance analysis. The dietary facility includes a research kitchen for the formulation of special or controlled diets and dietary analysis.

CRU nursing personnel are specialists trained for research procedures, including, but not limited to, pharmacokinetic studies, circadian studies, oral glucose tolerance tests, tilt table research, continuous pulse and blood pressure monitoring, EKGs, pituitary hormone testing, central line access and site care, CADD pump infusion, chemotherapy administration, monoclonal antibody administration, and adverse event management.

The clinical research services offered by the CRU vary by site, see the site section below for more detailed information.
