Who May Use the CRU?

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) supports many projects from diverse disciplines within the Northwestern research community. The CRU provides support for over 120 active protocols from more than fourteen Feinberg School of Medicine departments or divisions.


Eligible investigators supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other federal agencies, state and local entities, or the private sector may use the CRU. Here is the process timeline, from submission through scheduling subjects at Northwestern University.

Citing the CRU Grant

The CRU staff is dedicated to supporting the successful conduct and completion of research protocols. We request that investigators support the center by acknowledging the CRU grant in publications resulting from their CRU protocols. Acknowledgement of the CRU is essential to our success.

Publications that result from a protocol receiving support from NUCATS should reference the NUCATS grant UL1RR025741.  A PUBMED ID (or reprint) should also be sent to the NUCATS office so the publication may be incorporated into our bibliography and files as required by the NIH.
