 | | | provides evaluation consultation and evaluation oversight for the NUCATS Institute. Directed by William McGaghie, PhD, the OoE is housed on Northwestern University’s Chicago campus, on the 11th floor of the NUCATS Institute. The OoE team implements evaluation policy centering around project management principles and works with NUCATS leadership to institute a formal evaluation policy for all pilot projects funded by NUCATS. Consultative services offered by the OoE team include assistance in setting baseline goals with an eye towards identifying and operationalizing metrics and milestones for each NUCATS unit, providing project management consultation and tools with an evaluation approach, and administering needs assessment surveys to the research community. Additionally, the OoE team works with Noshir Contractor and the Office for Research Team Support (ORTS), undertaking a social network analysis of Northwestern University, as well as researchers within the CTSA Consortium institutions. The OoE team is collaborating with the Center for Translational Innovation (CTI) and the ORTS to plan next level activities to reach young researchers and service their needs. This includes, but is not limited to, activities such as team research events, further social network analysis data gathering, and self-efficacy questionnaires for funded projects. The OoE team leads the effort to create an institute-wide, online, data gathering tool – ClearCATS – to collect evaluation metrics and to assess the Institute’s progress for meeting its goals.
